Mastercard brings the trophy of the CONMEBOL Copa America™ to the boys and girls of Futbol Mas in Peru.
Lima, may 2024, with the aim of amplifying its link with the values that encompasses football, the company of technology and financial services, Mastercard, visited the district of Surquillo, where they joined Futbol Mas to bring the Trophy CONMEBOL Copa America™ and together with the children share an evening of joy, respect, creativity, team work and a lot of football. This in the framework of a novel campaign to remember that, as well as football, Mastercard is accepted by all sides.
For the first time in the history of Peru, the trophy of the CONMEBOL Copa America™ came to one of the socio-sport sessions of the NGO that uses football as a tool of social transformation for the benefit of more than 2943 boys and girls of the community that live in a context of vulnerability.
Through this initiative, Mastercard, through the Thophy Tour, brought the region's most prized football award to the heart of the neighborhood of one of Peru's most football-loving districts, so that children could have their pictures taken with the trophy, and enjoy an afternoon of football alongside volunteers from Mastercard and ambassadors from the NGO Futbol Mas for a priceless experience.
“As well as Mastercard is on all sides, football is a passion that transcends boundaries and brings people together from all over the world, beyond differences and geographical boundaries. For this reason, Mastercard brings the exclusive Trophy CONMEBOL Copa America-USA 2024™ to Peru, to offer children of the NGO Futbol Mas a priceless experience, by bringing the trophy most desired in Latin America to the people with a passion for football. With this action, we seek to bring children closer to their passion, breaking down barriers and inspiring them to live a unique experience”.
Pamela Carbajal, CEO of Mastercard in Peru and Bolivia.
«This tournament represents the union of several countries of South America, and other parts of the world, and seeks to highlight the message of Futbol Mas, that is: the power to transform realities through football. As an organization that has driven the strategy of Sport for Development for more than 15 years in different countries of the world, we are proud to be present and give the opportunity to boys and girls of the district of Surquillo a chance to pose with the cup. A cup that has been lifted by football stars such as Dani Alves and Lionel Messi in their latest editions.«.
Daniel Orrego, Executive Director of Futbol Mas in Peru.
In this way, Mastercard reaffirms their commitment to create a close connection between the values that encompasses the sport and their commitment to the children of Peru, to remind their users that, “as well as the passion of football is accepted on all sides, your Mastercard is too”. With this Mastercard seeks to generate greater awareness in people that can make use of their card in the various local business or business of their choice at a national level.
