Fundación Fútbol Más fue reconocida como la ganadora del premio en la categoría ‘Laureus Sports for Good’ in the Laureus World Sports Awards 2026, considerados a nivel internacional como el galardón deportivo más importante del mundo.
The award ceremony took place in the Glass Gallery of the Palace of Cibeles in Madrid, Spain, in a ceremony that brought together great figures and teams in the sport world, as well as organizations that generate an impact through the use of physical activity as a driver of change in the different communities in which they work.
This recognition positions Fútbol Más—an organization founded in Chile—as the world's leading institution regarding the use of play and sport as tools for development, transformation, and social inclusion.
Along with this, other figures of the international sport were recognized for their performance and presence. during the 2025. Such would be the case of Carlos Alcaraz as “Laureus Sportsman of the Year and Aryna Sabalenka as “Laureus Sportswoman of the Year”.
This milestone marks a before and an after in the history of the foundation, which was born in the neighborhoods of Santiago. in Addition, positions the country as a reference in the use of Sport for Development, since this is the first time in the history of Chile that a NGO or athlete of the national territory is renowned with this award.
With a presence in seven countries and on 3 continents over 18 years, the foundation has benefited more than 200,000 children, young people and their communities in the world. A model of social intervention, which goes beyond the sport, since that has allowed the development of protected areas in neighborhoods, improving the school coexistence in schools, in addition to working in contexts of humanitarian crisis and natural disasters.
“This recognition has moved us deeply, and we receive it with gratitude. Is every boy, girl, and community that has been a part of Fútbol Más during our 18 years of history. It is also of our teams in the field and of the alliances that we have formed in the way and you have confided in us,” said Guillermo Rolando, director, global executive and co-founder of Fútbol Más.
Fútbol Más represents a chilean initiative that has managed to export a model of social intervention based on the sport, which has been implemented and validated in different countries, adapting to different cultural realities and territorial, who have shown the sports can transform realities.
