‘United for Sport and Healthy School Coexistence’: Fútbol Más and The Being Initiative start program in Guayaquil

Guayaquil, Ecuador.– Fútbol Más, international organization dedicated to promoting the welllbeing of children and young people through sport and the game, it starts in Guayaquil the implementation of the program United for Sport and Healthy School Coexistence with the support of The Being Initiative, a project that seeks to respond to the challenges facing today's school communities in contexts of climates of high violence in educational establishments.

The initiative will test the sport and the game as key tools to strengthen the biopsychosocial welfare of students, promoting school environments, more safe, protective and cohesive. The program will be developed in five educational establishments of Fe y Alegría and includes three main lines of action.

In the first place, there will be a process of training and capacity building of teachers in Sport for Developmentnow , delivering methodologies and tools aimed at the prevention of psychosocial risks in contexts of violence. Second, we will integrate the development of life skills in Physical Education classesincorporating a cross-cutting skills such as effective communication and problem assertive conflict. Finally, we carried out events partner-sports which will seek to strengthen the significant links between students, teachers and other actors of the educational community.

With this program, Fútbol Más reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of well-being bio-psycho-social and school life healthy, strengthening protective factors and creating spaces of care and support where children and young people to develop social-emotional skills essential to Sport for Development. In the same way, Ecuador is in addition to Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Haiti, Mexico, Spain, and Kenya to the countries where the international organization has ever had similar interventions in its 18 years of history.
