UNESCO Perú and Fútbol Más throw “Champions without barriers” by the equality inside and outside of the courts
Officially launched the project Champions without barriersdriven by UNESCO, Peru, in partnership with the Fútbol Más Perú, that seeks to promote equality, the integral well-being and social-emotional development of children and adolescents through sport.
The launch event was held on Wednesday, may 29, in the I. E. Isabel Chimpu Ocllo, in the district of San Martin de Porres, and counted with the presence of students, teachers, directors of educational institutions of the UGEL 02, 04 and 05 of Metropolitan Lima, representatives of UNESCO Peru and Fútbol Más. In the opening ceremony participated the Regional Director of UNESCO Montevideo, Ernesto Fernández Polcuch, who said: “sport is a powerful tool for the development of the whole community. Not only contributes to individual growth, but helps us to include, to live together and to build a more equitable society”.



In the framework of the project, Fútbol Más Perú will be in charge of promoting the healthy school life through sessions sociodeportivas with children and adolescents 4th is high during the hours of physical education and lead the process of training aimed at teachers of physical education and specialists of 10 educational institutions belonging to the UGEL 02, 04 and 05. These trainings will be developed through sessions and recreational sports, with the equipment supplied, in order that each teacher has pedagogical tools that promote self-esteem, team work and leadership of the students within and outside of the court.
This project is part of the global program Fit For Life of UNESCO, which promotes sport as a tool to promote inclusion, equity, and mental health. On this occasion, Champions Without Barriers seeks to create and ensure spaces where students can learn, practice and enjoy football in a safe, secure learning environments and inclusive.
In addition, as part of its development, Champions without Barriers it will culminate in October with the completion of an Encounter Sociodeportivo School, where the students will compete and they will share their experiences with their families and friends. This league will not only be a space of sports competition, but also a party, open to all communities, promoting the joy and the recognition of the talent of the girls as the protagonists of change.
The day was joined by representatives of the Ministry of Education of Peru, the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, as well as the officers and students of the host institution. Your presence reaffirmed the commitment, multisectoral for an education more equitable, safe and violence-free. “In the face of sport for all and all are equal. It is a safe space, and fellowship.”, highlighted Roxana Mayorga chief of the General Office of Cooperation and International Affairs, Ministry of Education.
