Fútbol Más is proud and grateful to sportanddev the invitation to be part of its Steering Board to support and jointly strengthening sport for development in Latin America and the world.

The Board of Directors of sportanddev it is integrated by eminent leaders in the field of sport and development. This agency is responsible for overseeing the governance and strategy of the platform, and recently led a process to select a Latin american organization to join the council.

As a result, sportanddev it has been associated with Fútbol Más, reference organization in the field of Sport for Development, founded in Chile in 2008. Fútbol Más has been invited to join as the newest member of the Board of Directors.

This partnership is part of the commitment of sportanddev to build a more equitable, inclusive, and with greater impact, amplifying the voice and visibility of southern actors in the world. In particular, it seeks to highlight regions such as Latin America, which have relevant initiatives in this field.

In addition, sportanddev you acknowledge that the information, tools and resources in the world of Sport for Development are often inaccessible, fragmented, exclusive and only available in English, which generates inequality of opportunities. To address this situation, the platform has launched its website and an online course massive and open (MOOCS) in the four official languages of the United Nations, including the English, that account with 559 million speakers, being the fourth most spoken language in the world with a strong presence in Latin America.

Marion Keim, president of the Board of Directors of sportanddev, welcomed this addition:

We look forward to working together to build a movement of sport for development more representative and inclusive."

For his part, Victor Gutierrez, co-Founder of Fútbol Más and Expansion Director —who will represent the foundation of the Steering Committee— said:

It is an honor for our organization to be part of this Board. We're excited to bring our 18 years of experience to work sportanddev. We firmly believe that this type of partnership will strengthen the sector of Sport for Development and position us as relevant actors in front of the social challenges current".

Finally, sportanddev will work in conjunction with Fútbol Más and other partners in Latin America to support and enhance their work, including the strengthening of networks and alliances of organizations that promote social change through sport.
