Futbol Mas is part of the ‘Berlin Forum’ organized by the Common Goal

With the aim of bringing together global leaders from football for the common good and the order to advance collective efforts to maximize the contribution of football to the people and the planet, 2024 was the first edition of the ‘Berlin Forum 2024’ in Germany.

As rarely happens, representatives from 4 countries of Futbol Mas in the world is found in the capital of Germany to represent the foundation in one of the most important instances of the year for the world of the organizations that take up the Sport for Development. Samuel Musembi, executive director of Futbol Mas Kenya; Sergio Guerrero, director of partnerships of Futbol Mas Mexico, Alfonso Cevallos, coordinator of partnerships and programmes in Europe; Perrine Mardiné, director of monitoring and evaluation of Futbol Mas, were the responsible for representing the organization at the Forum.

The instance took place between 8 and 10 July at the Adidas Home of Football and brought together more than 200 local and international organizations that deal with the football and sporting activities to generate a positive impact on the vulnerable communities of different countries in the world.

In the framework of participation that was Futbol Mas within the Forum, it highlights the presentation that Perrine and Sam did at the workshop ‘Education: Improving early Childhood Development through Football’, where we addressed the work with girls and children refugees in Kenya and how flexible is the methodology of the foundation to work in different contexts of intervention. The panel was moderated by Paulina Ianotta of the Common Goal and on the panel, in addition, presented Karl Voysey AMANDLA Social Enterprises

“One of the things that I highlight was the participation that we had in the field of education, where different sessions we were able to expose what we've learned around the world in the programs that we have done for almost 17 years. In addition, we were able to learn about the work of other organizations working in the same field,” says Sergio Guerrero.

While Perrine Mardiné noted that, “to participate in the forum allowed us to meet and bond with other organizations in the world of sport for development who share our vision of the sport and the game as a tool of social transformation. It was very enriching for us to be able to share and exchange with other organizations to our challenges and best practices. The collaboration is the key to increasing our positive impact in the lives of children and their communities.”

In this way, it closes a week very relevant to Futbol Mas in the world, always with the aim of establishing links that allow improving the quality of the programs and to increase the impact.
