The legacy of the UEFA Women's Euro 2025: More Than Champions and football as an engine of change for girls and teens

48% of the girls leave the sport in adolescence, compared to 33% of the children, and only 8.6% of federal licenses from football in Spain are women. In a context in which the figures are worrying, More than Champions was created with the aim that no child is left out of the sport, decreasing the gender gap and ensuring that girls and adolescents, especially in contexts of vulnerability, they can play, grow, and find their place in the football. The campus, which will be held in four districts of Madrid and Sevilla during the month of July, will offer sports activities, mentoring with professional athletes, community events and spaces of play and care where girls can strengthen life skills such as teamwork, confidence and leadership.

During the campus, the participants will have the opportunity to meet, share and learn from professional players and women leaders linked to the world of football and sport.

If we look back 10 or 15 years ago, we could have never imagined that women's football would become so strong as it is today. And I'm sure that the future is optimistic, and that the girls are going to have more opportunities you have now.
