Professional Futbol Mas in Chile and Mexico met in Bogotá in a new edition of the Encuentro Latinoamericano Somos Equidad
With the aim of consolidating the gender equity in the field of sport and in the ecosystem of organizations that take up the sport as a strategy of social intervention, representatives of the Foundation Futbol Mas Mexico and Chile met in Bogotá, Colombia, to participate in the edition by 2025, the Encuentro Latinoamericano Somos Equidad. This project, promoted by the Foundation's Selection Colombia and funded by adidas in collaboration with a Common Goal, seeks to establish a Latin american movement that promotes gender equality in the sport, especially in football.
The meeting, which was extended by three days, with the participation of Katherine Carrasco and Laura Rojas for party Futbol Mas Chile, and Ariana Perez, Araceli Hernandez and Milena Soto representing Futbol Mas Mexico. During these sessions, it carried out various activities aimed at the strengthening of the network and the collaborative work between the organizations present.




For the team Foundation Futbol Mas, this meeting in Colombia represented an invaluable opportunity to share experiences and knowledge acquired in their respective countries. The ability to interact face-to-face allowed for a more in-depth exchange and enriching, strengthening the cohesion and commitment to the common cause of promoting gender equity in the sport.
Somos Equidad is structured around a methodology that promotes the incorporation of the gender perspective in three dimensions: En la Cancha, with a focus on children, youth, and communities; En las Gradas, addressed to coaches, trainers, and coaches; and En la Organización that focuses on the contributors. Throughout the implementation phases of the project, Foundation Futbol Mas has been actively involved in instances of training in gender equality and has developed initiatives such as the campaign El Balón No Tiene Género, a product of this joint effort.
In addition, in the framework of this meeting, was held the first edition of the Awards Somos Equidad. On this occasion, David Samayoa, coordinator territorial of Futbol Mas in the City of Mexico, was recognized as the Profe Somos Equidad del año 2025 , highlighting his dedication and effort in the promotion of gender equality through sport.
Participation in the Latin american Meeting on Somos Equidad reinforces the commitment of the Foundation Futbol Mas with the promotion of gender equity in the sport, strengthening alliances and strategies that seek to transform realities and to build a society more just and inclusive through football.
