Sunday morning was dyed green in the Ciclorecreov\u00eda Avenue Cardinal Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Caro, close to the Metro Baquedano, where Foundation Futbol Mas celebrated the Day of Sport for Development with a public socio-sports intervention, along with dozens of families<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team of the foundation was ready to show part of our methodology, inviting children, young people and adults to participate in the socio-sports activities and games, in addition to inform them about the work of the interventions, which are about to kick off throughout the country in different contexts such as neighborhoods and schools.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cAs a foundation<\/strong> we celebrate and commemorate this day in the public space for the first time, and that is very symbolic. For us this is very important because it allows us to connect with people who do not necessarily receive our program. To show the importance of sport, and the way we at Foundation Futbol Mas use sport, it is very powerful to connect with families, children and reaffirm that this is how we can transform reality.<\/strong>\u201d says Mar\u00eda Daniela Nore\u00f1a, executive director of the Foundation Futbol Mas Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To this place came dozens of families that enjoyed a day of sport in the Ciclorecreov\u00eda that passes through several communes of Santiago, from the sector of Rotonda Carol Urz\u00faa, in Vitacura, until the Mapocho Station in the historic center of the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parachute, penalty shootout and tennis soccer were part of the activities that were enthusiastically joined by the family groups, who were grateful for the space and appreciated the work of the foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The motto of this year's event was \u201cSport as a tool to promote peaceful societies and inclusive<\/strong>\u201d. In this context on, April 4 , at the Headquarters of the United Nations in New York, an event to commemorate that date was held<\/a>. The event focused on how the major sports agencies, are working together to achieve positive effects for people and the environments in which they operate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There Futbol Mas is made present through Football for the Goals, an initiative of which the foundation is part of, with the aim of sharing best practices, discuss and explore opportunities for collaboration to drive positive change in the efforts towards sustainable development and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
