The three new signings for Fútbol Más Foundation
“The clan of the 26”, this way can be called the team conformed by Daniela, Nicolás and Vicente. All of them of the same age, have just arrived to Fútbol Más to provide their knowledge in their distinct areas and share their passion for social development issues. In this article they will tell us their goals in this new stage at Fútbol Más
Nicolás Herrera Droppelmann, from Puerto Varas and hardcore fan of Universidad de Chile, joins to the quality and innovation area of Fútbol Más Foundation. He is a civil engineer, and comes to work in the integration process in all of the interventions of the Foundation. He will be in charge of the platform that allows facilitating the life of the professors, teachers and coordinators, in order to achieve a greater impact within the activities. In this way, it will seek to unify the learning of the children so that the experience of them is as enriching as possible.
“I knew Fútbol Más by name, and in 2015, from the initiative of the Green Card in the Copa América, I searched a little more about the foundation and I got to know its work. When I saw a job opportunity, I did not doubt twice to apply”, he says.
Nicolás arrives as the new coordinator of technology in the area of quality and innovation and within his challenges is to optimize and unify processes. In addition, he wants to deepen what the foundation does and ensure that children and teenagers can have the best possible experience in each of the activities.
“It motivates me to work here because it unites my two passions, sports with the vocation of service. I think the work done is very enriching and this way it also has a clear focus and objective. Something that catches my attention is to be able to mix the things that I like with a social background”, adds Nicolás.
From Los Angeles to all of southern Chile
Daniela Burgos Luengo, who at the time of her presentation emphasizes in the importance of the mother’s last name, is a commercial engineer and will be the new southern zonal executive. Its mission will be to supervise the teams from the regions of Ñuble to Aysén. She should be aware that the programs are being implemented in the right way, support the regional coordinators and see all the commercial development of the southern area, through new partners.
Always linked to the social areas and passionate about the vocation of service, Daniela spent a year living in San José de la Mariquina (Los Ríos Region) for her work in a program of the Foundation for Overcoming Poverty, an initiative in which professionals from different careers travel to live in communes that live in contexts of vulnerability, to work in social interventions for a year. “What interested me from Fútbol Más was that its focus is not football itself, it is the way to achieve an objective, so it is a foundation that seeks the socio-emotional development of children, which was something that I was already doing and I really like. This for me this is the next step”, concludes Daniela.
From Santiago to the coastal and rural O’Higgins
Vicente Rueda Cánovas, sociologist who arrives as territorial coordinator of O’Higgins Costa, place where a new project of the foundation will be implemented. San Pedro, La Estrella and Las Cabras will be the communes that will participate in the Fútbol Más Schools program. Vicente is in charge of devising the implementation of the plan that is thought to three years. He has to work on everything related to management with the different parts, which are the partner, the municipalities and the directors of the schools.
“Fútbol Más and their projects fascinate me because they use sports in a good way, to include other things that point to the development of children and their communities. I have always had that passion, since I decided to study sociology and I want to change the world in some way. Here they thought on changing it through sport for development, and I find that it is working,” says Vicente.
The project of which Vicente is in charge of will start from cero, in a vacant lot, and whose purpose is that girls, boys and young people can participate in the methodology of the foundation. The main challenge is to raise the program so that it can be implemented in the mentioned municipalities. In addition, it must motivate teachers so that it works, who will be trained to promote development through sports.
