From a social, private and public perspective, the meeting revealed the experiences of various actors in the world of sports for development. The co-founder of Fundación Fútbol Más, Víctor Gutiérrez was invited to show how in 11 years our organization has had a positive impact on work with children and communities around the world.
“La bruijta Verón”, former Argentine national and president of Estudiantes de La Plata, Nicolás Rubio of the Barca Foundation, Samuel Azout, president of Fútbol con Corazón, Annemarie Elsom of the Manchester City Foundation, Mateo Figueroa of the Real Madrid Foundation, besides Representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and other organizations that use sport as a tool, were the protagonists of the International Forum of Soccer for Development held in Panama City.
Among these true “cracks” of professional and social football, Víctor Gutiérrez, co-founder of Fundación Fútbol Más, presented the impact that our organization has had in these 11 years of work for children and communities in Latin America, Africa and Europe. “In Fúybol Más we are convinced that football can promote social changes. It is proven that sport is a tool that can help these processes. This is what we have done in communities in Chile, Ecuador, Haiti, France, Mexico, Peru, Paraguay and Kenya, where we have managed to create inspiration in communities through the ball, “said Victor, who in his presentation highlighted football as a catalyst of social phenomena.
The event organized by Fútbol con Corazón and the IDB brought together professionals from the public and private sectors, as well as social entrepreneurs, coaches and young leaders with the aim of creating a football ecosystem for development, where experiences on this topic were also shared.
“It is very important to leave another type of message, not so materialistic that can really help children reflect, think about giving them the tools for their future and to find in football a popular and massive sport” said Juan Sebastián Verón, guest star of the event, who shared with the attendees his experience from professional to how football can change lives.
