Futból Más does its first International Summit The Ball Has No Frontier
With the presence of the nine countries that make-up Futból Más’ world, and during six whole days, a team formed by executive and field directors arrived in Santiago de Chile for the first International Summit #TheBallHasNoFrontier, a strategic meeting where the work done by the teams of different countries, the long term objectives and the processes of improvement and innovation in a variety of areas were all revised and checked.
“This summit shows a significant advance in our global strategy of using sports for development in every corner of the world. We have the conviction that Fútbol Más does not have any frontiers”, says Victor Guitíerrez, executive director and co-founder of Fútbol Más, who welcomed the directive teams from Chile, Ecuador, France, Kenia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic in the Central Office of Fútbol Más in Santiago de Chile.
The summit took place between the 9th and the 15th of October, in the premises of Colunga Hub and in Isla Negra. It allowed for the leaders of Futból Más to introduce their work around the globe, to show the work done in every country and the diverse areas of work in the organization.
“We invite every team around the globe to share their experiences, to be able to create a shared space for the different territories we work in because of the power the ball holds”, says Juan Araya, international director of Fútbol Más.
In Fútbol Más’ first International Summit, social affairs like the improvement and development of the organization’s structure, the social and community design and the experiences from the different countries were all discussed. Additionally, through intervention visits to field, the assistants were able to understand the positive practices done by social pairs in the neighbourhoods of Huamachuco of Renca, and San Cristobal of Recoleta.
Regarding branding, the international protocols for the new imagine of the organization were revised, in the area of communication, the models of construction for a communicative strategy were checked, in fundraising the diverse ways for funding and sustainability of Fútbol Más as well as the experience in the area of partnership were also revised.
In the area of technology, they checked the plans for the creation of new ways of transferring knowledge in the development of sports, in administration and finance, work protocols and the development of people, as well as politics on human resources of the organization were all checked.
During the first International Summit #TheBallHasNoFrontier, a place for reflection involving local culture, self-care and charisma of organization was offered in the encounter held in Isla Negra, in the coast of Chile.
“The best thing about this summit, without a doubt, has been being able to finally meet the teams working in different countries, and learning about their experiences in every area, as well as reinforcing the spirit of organization in the different corners of Fúbol Más’ world”, concludes Seppe Verbist, executive director of Fútbol Más Kenia and Africa’s region.
