First meeting between young leaders and teachers in Haiti
Thanks to the work that Futbol Más carries out together with Fundación Desarrollo Educativo within the framework of the Ayiti Jwe program and the support of the Agency of International Cooperation for Development Chile and Fondo Chile, on April 27 we held the first meeting among young people leaders and teachers, where about 70 students and 15 teachers participated in activities where Respect, Happiness, Responsibility, Teamwork and Creativity were the main values.
Through sports and games, young people from the northern metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, had a meeting space at the Saint Charles de Borromee School; the objective was not simply to have a space for recreation and play, but to promote values through activities that would give importance to the formative process in which young people and teachers have participated throughout the school year.
The main objective of this meeting, was to deepen the methodology of the project, and thus enable young people to recognize themselves as agents of change in their communities, who identify themselves with the capacity to develop and implement activities and transfer the methodology to their equals, their teachers and their community.
For more than 4 hours, students and teachers shared the joy of the game in different stations that put everything they had learned in the previous formations to the test, where respect for their classmates has always been strengthened and the confidence of the students has been strengthened. that well-intentioned leadership will be able to cope with some of the challenges that arise in the school community and in their daily lives.
Since the context in Haiti varies depending on the area, the meeting turned out to be a space where young people could share part of their reality with their peers and thus enhance mutual understanding among Haitian youth.
The board games mid to learning and football with the green card methodology were good tools to enhance the skills of students and teachers!
